Useful contacts

Neighbourhood police: Martin Durbin is our local man and has been for many years. His mobile is 07919 538844. His partner Elliott will have the mobile if he is off. The office number is 9455023 - if they aren’t in in you can leave a message there.

Graffiti: Alan Cox manages Bristol City Council’s Graffiti Removal Team. Paul Rosser, the area officer, says: “When you see such daubing it is wise to report it to the police as they can then gauge the extent of such crime. The City Council can often assist in removing graffiti, but has no legal obligation to do so from non-council property. You can report it online at www.bristol.gov.uk/graffiti or by telephone: 01179223838 from 08.00 to 20.00 Monday to Friday.” Paul Rosser’s email is paul_rosser@bristol.gov.uk

Car Club - Kingsdown Car Club is managed by Smart Moves as part of the Bristol City Car club. Membership gives you use of the car (a Vauxhall Corsa), which is parked on its designated parking space in Clevedon Terrace (no parking problems!). Booking is by internet or phone. Full details, prices etc here or phone Iris Eiting on 0845 458 1785

For Kingsdown dwellers it makes an ideal alternative to car ownership (usually estimated at £3000 a year or more), or indeed to owning a second car. You can book for as little as an hour, on the spur of the moment (provided the car is available). You don’t have to go far to fetch it and take it back. If it is already booked, there are other cars in Fernbank Road, Cotham Road and St Andrews (including an estate car). And you don’t have to worry about parking when you return. It just takes a little bit of extra planning and removes the temptation to use cars indiscriminately!

Clean and Green Elizabeth Watts-Miller represents the Civic Society on this city-wide project, but she’s also a Kingsdown resident so is happy for people in the area to contact her. Email details You can find out more about Clean and Green on the Council website

Streetscene Enforcement Manager Aled Williams works in Waste & Streetscene Services and can be contacted by email or through the Customer Services helpline on 922 3838 You can find out more about their work here
